About the conference
The 29th Annual International Conference on Economics and Security (ICES 2026) will take place at the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) in Rzeszów, Poland from 24th June (pm) till the evening of Friday, 26th June 2026. Once again, this conference will offer a platform for economists, political scientists, and professionals from various fields globally to exchange ideas and explore future advancements in the following areas:
- Regional security
- Economics of security
- Economics of conflict and war, including hybrid and cyber warfare
- Arms races
- Military alliances
- Globalisation and the restructuring of the MIC
- Militarism and development
- Budgeting and finance of capability development, sustainment, and deployment
- Security sector reform
- Conflict and migration
- Post-conflict reconstruction
- Economics of the arms trade
- Procurement and offsets
- Military supply chain management
- Corruption and military spending
- Economics of terrorism
- Peace economics and peace science
- Conversion and demilitarization.
Submissions
Submissions of papers on related topics are also encouraged. The conference will only feature ‘in-person’ presentations. Abstracts (up to 300 words) should be submitted to the organizers before 30th of April 2026 to be considered for inclusion in the conference programme.
The Michael D. Intriligator Memorial Student Fund will cover the travel expenses and registration fees for the next conference for the graduate student in economics or a related field who presents the best paper. Please let us know if you wish your paper to be considered.

Registration
The conference registration fee is set at PLN700 (c. EUR165) for early birds and PLN800 (c. EUR189) for late registrations. (This will include the welcome reception, lunches, and coffee breaks.) There will also be 10 places for doctoral candidates at PLN500 (c. EUR118). There is a separate charge of PLN200 (c. EUR48)) for the conference dinner on 26 June. As usual, conference participants are expected to pay their own travel and accommodation expenses. Further details will be provided on the conference webpage and our next e-mail will contain its address.
